Picture an ordinary piano keyboard. Nice job.
Now, instead of the multitude of minature mallets striking a series of strings to promptly produce any number of notes, imagine tiny springloaded knife-like surfaces scraping various slender lengths of chalkboard, to effect the characteristc screeches
in uncharacteristic harmonic unity.
Anti-music to flout the bourgeois conventions of the establishment? Or some sort of powerful new sonic assault weapon? I don't care, I want one.
P.D.Q. Bach

My teeth hurt just thinking about this. No idea what to give this, so I'll have to get back to you when I've stopped trying to suck my gums. |

The last bit of music I made used the sound of guitar strings being scratched by a pick down their entire length. [+] |

if it made a smell as well, it could be a
scratch and sniff - a + for anything that
makes an interesting noise which can be
described as music. |

I'm pretty sure this is baked, I think they call it an accordion. |

If only this had been developed during P.D.Q. Bach's time! He would have had a ball with it. |

Normally I am an easy pastry for musical instruments. This one, however, makes me want to go invent the herring gatling. |

[jutta] PDQ Bach. I don't understand it. Isn't it sacreilegious? (That coming from me). I love Bach! I really don't get this dude's performance. |

I don't get the idea, either, but I stand back. no vote. |

[wagster] try using a quarter instead of a pick.(not good for the strings!) It works best w/ the slide (If any of you ever meet me in real life, I really, really suck at the guitar now. I haven't played in years. It used to be the love of my life, but then came kids. (& a broken finger/tendon I never got fixed.) |
