How about a web site where users all around the world can create a story one word at a time. Users log on, and read the story. There would be a pool of words and the users cast a vote for which one should be the next one in the story. Every ten minutes or so, the votes are tallied and the next word is
added to the story. After a certain amount of words or time, the old story is saved and archived, and a new story is started. [--August 1, 2001]
Half bakers have been kneeding the dough of this idea a bit by commenting on it one word at a time... As a result, the page is taking a long time to load, so I have started deleting some of the words, while keeping comments and recaps. If you're a first-time visitor to this idea, that is why it doesn't make a lot of sense. [--August 9, 2001]

Time to bake
http://story.mauldeth.eu.org I liked this idea so much I just had to bake it. It's still in it's infancy, I'm still cooking it some more to make it more usable and less archaic. [Update] No longer online, it went a little off, I'll revive it somepoint in the future if people want. [Peej, Aug 02 2001, last modified Oct 04 2004]

On this "interactive web site" you should be able to turn
words in to links to take you to another storyline - ie
click on "Joe" to take you to another storyline that starts
with the word "Joe" - this way rather than saving one
story and starting another there would be an
ever-expanding number of stories with everything linking
together, and you might find out why Joe was looking for
his gear in the first place.— | Jim,

sense as it is. No reason to make it any more difficult. :) ] |

a grand total of two sentences that actually make sense.] |

[UnaBubba: I didn't say that it was grammatically correct,
or even a true statement. All I meant was that if someone
said it to me, I would understand what they were trying
to communicate.] |

Suddenly elves stormed the Parliament and defenestrated Ann Clwyd. Impossibly, nobody cheered up. Meanwhile, malevolent synapses fired bananas maliciously. For Christmas, Joe comes home spectacularly wearing decreasing quantities of, deliberately, aubergine depleted thongs. Trafalgar Smith-Smith!" Chapter 2.
Poleaxe Polecat, polevaulting Poland, exsanguinated exquisite exhibitionists exhibiting exceptional examples exhaustively. Trigonometry triumphs!, trilled Trilobite Trixie truculently. Ptolemys ptarmigans pteroform pteridophyte pteroclomorphised pteranodons pterribly. Nonetheless, microcosmic adaptors Napsters nefarious, vicarious omnibus The End Is Nigh Oh good. lied Lionel Richie. Perdurability notwithstanding, Aloysiuss bean bomb blast permeated perpetuity quizzically. Alliteration always alludes, allegedly, although alligators alimony arose allegorically awry. Finally, fellating flautists felched Friar Flimflam Frottage fortuitously. Turing! Turtles turbulently turbulently tumbling
, cried crybaby. Meanwhile, underground, a halfbaked licorice gigantilaser sliced pizza turbulently, resulting inexorably scoreably yet extemporaneously extolled. Herrings often swim. Tarantulas, however, water-ski because they can. Flatulence notwithstanding, Sheep, goats, Norfolk and Somerset occasionally cupellate themselves then terminally. Dance(cupellate = vaporise) yellowbelly! Enough. sophistry can't replace lovers ' epicureanism. Epicureanism is really enjoyable. [see link] Flagellation misspelled Nervosa , and excessive twice universally but no-one speculated a Spanish Inquisition in Tierra Del Fuego , especially since Joe [bringing back in an old character...] & Billy inserted Inquisitors intricately intrasententially inanely. Flibbertigibbet! They would have been supper -ing quietly while (expression=true) blasting away Elves with wild exaggeration vehemently, damn nation came swiftly. Anfraxious antelope antlers are alliterating and astronomically avid. Terebinthinate turtles theantropically truncated. Lascivious lickspittles ingratiated ludicrous hydatiform monkey coprophiliacs. Menacingly, Joe 's ASCII (OK, if you insist) hamster died. Tintinnabulatory telephones roused Joe from his fitful cathexis. Emotionally, but

Is this idea why one-word-at-a-time stories are banned from the 'bakery (or at least frowned upon), 'coz I remember reading something to that effect in the help file... |
