I love liquorice. I also like equations, so The Delicious Square Root of Liquorice is the brand name for a new type of printer that creates eatable, three dimensional versions of topographical equations.

It works using the same basic principles of a combination of two technologies: Rapid prototyping and the Liquorice Rope Extrusion Process (see links).

The apparatus is available as a full scale factory unit for mass production purposes, or as a desktop printer, suitable for installation in the local corner sweet shop.

In the latter case, for a small fee, customers can choose from a large range of stored equations and watch as The Delicious Square Root of Liquorice printer manufactures them fresh and ready to eat before their very eyes.

see link for example taken from the wonderful Grapher programme that comes free with every Macintosh OSX

I'm sorry for all those who hate liquorice... if you learned to like it, your minds would improve.
