The Brads!

remake of Hitchcock classic film: The Birds

The plot is simple. For some never explained reason hundreds of young dimwitted males called Brad start arriving and hanging about in a small town.

A small incident starts an attack on another group of visitors, along with the local residents. As all of the Brads are apprentice hair stylists, their attacks focus on cutting, blow drying, perming and otherwise fashioning their unfortunate victims' hair. (bald folk simply have their heads sprayed with silver paint and covered with hundreds and thousands) Scenes of terrified citizens being pursued by the hair drier and scissor brandishing Brads throughout the normally quiet seaside streets abound.

The vulnerable visitors hole up in a motel, as the Brads break in, menacing the cowering visitors, and are only stopped at the last possible moment by a great rain storm of wigs falling from the sky (see Magnolia's rain of frogs for similar)

Much better with the !, making it redolent of atomic age b movie sci fi. Perhaps the format could be spun out into, say "Attack of the 50 Foot Brad" or "Bradvasion of the Body Snatchers" or some such.

um, hundreds and thousand of what?

       What????

If I'm only partly bald (I am in denial) do I get covered with dozens and hundreds instead? And why silver paint? Why not chocolate mousse?

I know 3 Brads and while they may well be dimwitted, none are hair stylists, apprentice or not.

       [marked-for-deletion] Stereotyping, pun.

I'm shaving my own head, spraying it with silver paint, dipping it in hundreds and thousands, and going out now to feed the sparrows. Chill!

ah c'mon with the [m-f-d], it's not actually stereotyping as the one Brad I'm thinking about is a movie actor and these guys are hairdressers...+ and if it was a pun, it would be *the bards*!
xandram, Mar 17 2009

Of course it's stereotyping. "All male hairdressers are called Brad. All hairdressers are dimwitted."

And it's most certainly a pun as the idea would have absolutely no merit whatsoever had Alfred Hitchcock's film not been such an iconic film. Title came first, then the "idea".

       Sorry guys. [m-f-d] sustained.
theleopard, Mar 17 2009

Not a pun, actually it's a malapropism, something I use a lot here. In no where in the idea does it either state that all male hairdressers are called Brad, or that all hairdressers are dimwitted, ergo the stereo-typing is in your head [theleopard] - shame on you!

After proposing "claws" It would be hypocritical of me to agree with "made for the pun". Therefore I am awarding this a bun.
