It's going to start with an exact replica of what happened
in Beebe, Arkansas, but that what really happens in the
book is the first conversion
of a man into a birdman
and the transformation causes the bird deaths.
He and the birds get caught in the alien rays and
fuse somehow.
I gotta figure
that last part out. But the aliens want to
start the birdman wars
to flesh out the humans and start a new race capable of
living on their planet
which requires wings
and they are losing population. So they seek our
conversion
and subsequent ferry to their homeland
after global warming takes unprecedented effect
in 2012. Everyone wins. But at the beginning
the lone birdman roams free... hearing the news of the
birds.. his own disappearance a mere blip on the
regional
news radar..
Soon he unites with other birdmen... in Italy, Sweden..
they start using the news stories to locate new members
until they are spotted. then. pandemonium. Nobody
knows
what to do with them. war breaks out. they are
increasingly difficult to hit and they may or may not have
laser guns.
fishmen also arise, but are a mere hapazard offshoot of
the intentional beast: Birdman.
However, late in the book it is a fishman that gives the
CIA info to where birdmen's leader is kept. The CIA get
this information by, ironically, waterboarding him.
Humans remain glued to the controversial coverage of
fishman's waterboarding while millions of Birdmen lift to
the sky and aboard the alien ships, never questioning
the effect this will have on their lives tomorrow..
Well, now everybody's heard about the bird...

So, turns out Beebe, Arkansas was named after someone
named *Roswell* Suspicious, eh? |
|
|
What frequency are alien rays, by the way? |
|
|
Pedantic, eh? (Ouch. Good call.) |
|
|
[MB], once every couple of days, so far it seems. |
|
|
That Roswell bit really freaked me out, thanks [mouseposture]! |
|
|
It's even spookier that he spells his name with two stars like
that. |
|
|
Perhaps it indicates the constellation of his home planet? |

Why don't you ask Kenneth? |
|
|
'Twas on a Monday morning that the Birdman came to call
An alien ray had zapped him - just to start a birdman brawl.
The aliens' life is waning
And they need some new recruits
So they've raised a Swedish army
Dressed in rubber birdman suits!
Oh it all makes work for the CIA to do...
etc. |

Yay, Dr. Bob. More more more... |
