That's A Real Grey Area

Build a real grey area

We live in an uncertain world, with much reference to many issues being in a "grey area". I would like to build that grey area in order to look at those issues. In my grey area, everything would naturally be grey. To visit the area would entail wearing only grey clothes, and having your hair and face made up to match, as the grey area is sort of devoid of colour. Everything within the grey area would be an approximation, free of absolutes, and blurred into a gloomy haze. Folk you might meet there would sort of know you, but maybe they wouldn't. There would be an uncertainty bar, but you might not be able to find it. There would be vague things to do, and undo, but they would never really get finished, or possibly even started. The location of the Grey Area would also be uncertain, but on the other hand it could be known as everyone already refers to what's in it. In fact the only thing certain about The Grey Area, is that it's in a grey area itself.

Would separate locations be designated as "arbitrarily black and white" areas?

//Everything within the grey area would be an approximation, free of absolutes, and blurred into a gloomy haze.// This sounds like my life already.

//Folk you might meet there would sort of know you, but maybe they wouldn't.// Yep.

//There would be vague things to do, and undo, but they would never really get finished, or possibly even started.// Are you following me?

I could be, but it's a matter for discussion - depends on a number of factors

This seems to describe my first two years at college. Hmmm, also how I feel after a few shots of Tequila.

[xen] I'm not sure it's even a matter for discussion, that too rests on a whole raft of unnecessarily dependable assumptions, or at least, it might do.

       The brain would match.

Sounds like an art project for the next Burning Man.

       You’re one of my coworkers?

Careful. The men in grey hear everything.

Can I go to the Grey Area and shop in the Grey Market? SIp Earl Grey tea? Watch the Grey Cup game?

[Shz], Holstein cow orkers are prohibited (because they're black and white).

I think this is a cool idea, worthy of a bun, but I'm not sure which category it fits into...
