Ah yes, I can completely see the point of this. It's cunningly designed so that when you're descending, the Valvular Conduit blocks the flow of air, much like a normal round 'chute. But when you find yourself falling upwards, as happens from time to time, the air passes easily through and you are not impeded. |

Obviously not of much use in those parts of the world where the gravity only points downward, but elsewhere it would be a real boon. |
