(I couldnt find a better category, unless it also doubled as a helmet)
Edit- thanks for the *globe* category!
This is a world globe with many added features. Made of light clay, rubber, and gel Terra-Parts, one can literally tear apart the earth and look at it from many angles.
The topographical
continents and oceans are removable somewhat like a puzzle. They are made of a polymer rubber that sticks into place, and can be torn off to examine the different color variations, which denote depth and/or elevation. When those are removed, the globe then can be then taken apart in half from the equator. This portion reveals the crust, mantles and inner and outer cores. (I did find a cheap foam globe that does have this aspect) These color-coded layers are also all removable one by one in scale dimensions. The center is a soft gel core denoting the molten portion, which also contains a small iron inner core at the very center.
You can lie out the oceans and continents to see how a flat map is made and separate the layers of the Earth right down to the core.
Now, you can start putting the world back together.
Very similar patented in '95 but haven't seen in production

Physiographic relief globe

I'm guessing the layers won't be in scale because that would make for some *very* thin layers. But + for the idea. I think I would make it lighted from the inside so the more you peel back the hotter (in color, not heat) it glows. |

And pay no attention to the patent- your idea is better. That is not the patent you are looking for. <waves hand in silly attempt at Jedi powerness> |

Excellent for budding geocide commiters. + |

Interesting link, [NTSS] I was actually surprised that something like didn't already exist, or I couldn't find one anyway. (and there is no Globe category here) |

Bun! Really neat. Would be fun if it had all kinds of layers.. maybe accesory layers - like wind patterns, atmosphere layers, etc. Needs RFID. |
We need a version filled with custard. |
I like the light idea and the accessory layers. It would be so cool to add so many layers it could extend all the way out into the universe! |
As a geographical extra, have the continents separate into countries. |
I think the earth is a beautiful place. |

[xandram] - You make my world incomplete. |
You could also make an edible version. Peel, eat, and learn. |
sp. peel
not a bad idea, though. |
The eatable version: Your atmosphere layer is going to have to be made of rice paper, and your outer crust of a very thin candy coating. |
Babe, never miss to peel the continents too... they made the world FL(o)AT! |

I think magnets are the way to go. Stuff made of sticky rubber gets dirty. The gooey parts can be made of stretch armstrong polymer doped with ferrofluid. This would be like a 3D puzzle with differents textured bits. |

Hey, let's make them all!
