Tea Strength indicating Spoon

A spoon that tells you when your tea is Just right

This is obviously inspired by [hippos] mug(see link)

This spoon has two contacts on its edges that measure the electrical potential of the tea water as it is being brewed, this activates a small scale display in the handle that tells you when your tea is just right. Program it with different users and different drinks to produce your drinks just the way you like them.

The spoons battery is kept charged using the temperature differential between the hot tea and the surrounding cooler air.

A built in RFID reader allows users to upload their preferences to the local spoon or tea making machine to get just the right blend every time.

Do you have evidence to suggest that conductivity of water varies reliably with concentration of tea?
angel, Jul 28 2006

Only a degree in chemistry and 10 years of running analytical laboratories. I will try running an experiement when I get a minute and determine the actual results.

Conductivity will change based on the constituents of the water. Anything that will dissolve into water Will change the conductivity of the water.

I always have unreliable conduct when my concentration varies - does this mean that I am part tea bag?

And after that one, I think it's fair to say we'll all be waiting with baited breath for you to come back.

Oh, sure, back up your idea with "experiments," "education" and "facts." Feh.

Why do I think this is merely going to end up with the beverage described so lovingly in the Hitchhiker's Guide, almost, but not quite, entirely unlike tea...?
