In the Tandem Rickshaw there is an extra set of pedals for the passenger(s) so that you no longer have to feel guilty, as some poor person sweats like a slave powering you along the city streets.
Of course your gearing is variable so that it can range from being virtually effortless, all the way
to that of a fully shared load.
Comes in the form of either a side-by-side seat rickshaw, or an in-line tandem for speedy trips. This variation is called The Tandem Taxi.

If you are pedalling a chainring connected to the same chain which is being driven by the rickshaw driver, you could actually resist the driver's pedalling if you wanted to *really* make him sweat. |

That would be The Feet Dragging option. |
|
|
I have also considered S&Ms Horse's Head Tandems, as a special option service, where the main "driver" wears a horse's head, and the "passenger" gets to mush them along with a whip. |

What if the pedals hooked up to a pair of rear-pummeling
feet? |

aren't rickshaws technically hand-drawn ? |

There are different types, and there could be technical names, but the generic one is rickshaw. |

Ah, not Denholm's twin brother, then? |

Strangely enough, there is a niece somewhere in the family tree called Tandem. In her youth she was known as the college bicycle; hence the term "can you ride Tandem?". |
