TO Hinges
Trigonopterus Oblongus hinging for various applications | |
These cool creatures use a screw and nut assembly to drive
the hinges in their legs. (linky)
I am looking for evidence of humans using such same
assemblies for hinging actions. If they do not, then it is my
idea to create some assemblies like this in various sizes
and
materials and go to
town, see how useful it may be.
Screw joint
http://www.scienced...07/110701082802.htm It appears that the hip is the bolt and the leg is the screw, and as the bone screws into the hip an advanced range of motion is achieved.. [daseva, Jul 05 2011]
