"Back in the day" you could buy cigarettes from a vending machine. Now with age restriction regulation you can't do that. I propose vending machines that allow you to swipe your driver's license to verify your age before purchasing beer and cigarettes. Such a system would allow the vending companies
to sell user data if desired.
Same thing?

In the Netherlands we have sigarette vending machines for people who are sixteen and older. You can prove this to the machine in two ways: You insert an AGE-COIN that you get from the bartender or you pay with your bank card (chip-card). |

//I propose vending machines that allow you to swipe your driver's license to verify your age before purchasing beer and cigarettes.// More than likely I will swipe *your* driver's license to verify *your* age before purchasing *my* beer and cigarettes. |

I'm with zeno. A credit card should be good enough, as the bank knows how old you are. |

What you might want to do is require a driver's license swipe for all alcohol purchases, and that way the state can take away your privileges for drunken driving. |
