Street Gator
A radio controlled alligator that looks like it's swimming through the sidewalk. | |
Full sized in length, this remote controlled plastic toy
alligator only features the top 1/4 of the animal so it looks
like the rest is submerged in under the pavement or
concrete. Although it rolls on wheels it's very low to the
ground to enhance the effect.
I woke up last night thinking
about this for some reason.
Guess it was a dream or something. Crazy eh?
Did a search, no street versions but there is a water version.

Also no wheels.

This would freak people out. In fact, it would terrify children; they might well be psychologically scarred for life ... [+] |

You could make a Street Beaver, but it wouldn't be anywhere near as scary (unless you had a wooden leg). |
|
|
//Street Beaver// try Kings Cross. |
|
|
Trust you to be forthcoming with that particular gem of information ... |
|
|
By the way, I'm not going to insult everybody's intelligence
by pointing out the obvious, that the sections of this thing
would roll in a serpentine, swimming motion. |
|
|
You know, looking at 2Fries' link I'm thinking this would make
a great pull toy. |

The difference between alligator and crocodile versions is that one follows later while the other follows after a while. |

That's a pun whose time Cayman went a while ago ... |

OK, nobody likes giving praise less than me but those
were both very clever. |
|
|
3D Banksy-type scary-fun art installation idea: bun.
[2fries, 8th] clever puns: bun, bun.
[doc] playing nice: bun. |
|
|
That leaves 9 buns... hmmm... |

One was genuinely witty; the other was derivative, predictable, and just a tiny bit sad. Sorry, [2fries], but you needed to be told. |
|
|
Reminds me of that old school children's chant when walking
down the sidewalk: 'Step on a croc, break your mother's
back.' |
|
|
I see [Aus] is in the running for a comment bun--oh alright, I'm feeling generous, as it is Canada Day weekend and all-- and [2fries] is urgently trying to keep the already-earned bun. So, 8 buns left... |

That anno wasn't there when I posted mine... this is something I must monitor more closely. |

The sort of task you can conveniently perform while sitting on the W.C., or perhaps on a Komodo ... |

Iguana ignore that pun as beneath you. |

Will these gadgets be on city main streets and roadways, or just in the narrow access routes in between buildings ? We deduce the latter, after all they're supposed to be Alley Gators ... |

Dyslexic floor layers would just call a tile-rep. |
|

Alley Gator, that's good. |

"If you see an alleygator, if you see a walkadile, if
you want to live till later, my advice is run a mile." |

Commercial for a wind up toy maybe? Wind it up and
it slithers around at random very fast and you try to
avoid it. |
|
|
Like Hilary Clinton, then ? Although she just winds everyone up ... |
