This would be a dotted line on the urinal wall at a height of 1.5 meters. Perusing the wall above the line will assure others of your, and you of their, purely urinative desires. Opening and closing shop and aiming would be performed via peripheral vision.

I'm missing something. How do others know where you're looking? Is there some sort of siren that goes off if you look below the line? |

You would be secure in knowing that you're not accidentally sending signals, noted in sideways glances, that could be misinterpreted. |

Now I get it. This is a proposal not for a device but for a social convention that's already baked in real life; the line (of decorum, or tact) is merely implicit. |

I thought you were proposing super high-tech optic sensors that detect where you look and indicate (via alarm and flashing lights or something) inappropriate looking. |

...or you could use a stall. |

I thought this was the purpose of the news/sports front pages that many restaurants here in the U.S. post on the wall above the urinals. By referring to one of the stories in the paper, you "prove" your eyes are directed above the line. |

"Oh geez, the Patriots lost again!"
"Yup. And George W. stuck his foot in it today." |
|

"Hey, nice penis. I mean.. oops." |

why not make it interesting and put something akin to a headlines at a glance on an lcd screen?
you could add a touch screen to the stall door for surfing the net too |
