...DO NOT USE! Any use of this card will immediately
notify
the police. ATM will confiscate card as will any
merchant.
Please remove this sticker before placing this decoy card
in
wallet. If your wallet is stolen, the thief will use this
decoy
card and be arrested. Hide actual card in
another
location."
The thief will hopefully think you were just too lazy to
remove it, fall for the ruse and not risk using it.
Better the thief panic and throw your ATM or credit card
in the garbage than
clean out your bank account.

This reminds me of "Panic Pin". which I loved, a lot. That's all
I got. |
|
|
Out of interest, if your cards are lost or stolen and used, and
assuming you report it reasonably promptly and don't keep
your PIN written on the card, does the bank reimburse you for
any losses? |
|
|
It's my understanding that once you report it stolen, if the
bad guys buy something with it afterwords you're not
responsible for the purchase. |
|
|
The bank will immediately shut the card down so it won't be
approved, if somebody sells something without getting
approval I assume they eat the loss. |
|
|
If they use it before you report it? Might have to wrestle
with the bank a bit. Not sure. |
|
|
Well, it's another approach to a message on a sticker to
deter thieves. |
|
|
But sure, you could post a new idea. I like pulling a sneaky
on the bad guys. |
