I don't know how this would be done; so it probably doesnt qualify as an idea yet.
Instead of the earphone-things on stethoscopes there could be a hand-held sound amplifier that makes it possible for everyone present to hear the heart beat. Stethoscopes are a lot like telescopes in that two people
can't listen/look at the same time, so it's complicated to try and describe what is important to notice in the rhythm/sky (hmm, a second idea...). The doctor tries to describe what he's hearing and then passes the ear pieces to you and tries to explain the noise. This would make that info sharing easier because both doctor and patient could listen at the same time. There is always that self-conscious feeling of not knowing what someone is observing about you (like, dear god, the dentist).
