As everyone knows, Gibraltar is simultaneously an
independent state, a BOT (British Overseas Territory) and
a member of the EU. Gibraltarians have British Overseas
Territory Citizenship (BOTC) and can, under the British
Nationality Act 1981, register for British Citizenship. It
seems only fair
that there should be a reciprocal
arrangement and that UK-resident British citizens should
also be eligible for Gibraltar BOTC status. This would give
everyone in the UK the ability to retain the free movement
rights of EU membership after the UK leaves the EU.
This doesn't include the Channel Islands or Isle of
Man of course, which are not currently part of the UK or
EU.

Alternatively, they could just be issued with a Challenger II main battle tank and instructions to "go on, have a bit of fun". It's an "open borders" policy, but with collateral damage. |

I can't actually read this at mo but positive it deserves a bun! |

Gibraltar is all very well and good, but (a) most of it
is on a 45° slope and (b) it closes early on
Wednesdays. |

On the plus side, cigarettes and alcohol are gloriously
untaxed there. Makes you appreciate just how cheap
a paper tube of dried leaves can be. |

No need to worry as the UK and the EU will share an open
border with total freedom of movement in Ireland. Any UK
citizen who wants to visit the EU can simply travel to
Ireland, and any EU citizen wanting to visit the UK can do
the same and enter the UK via Northern Ireland, without
ever encountering the type of border control that will be in
place in Dover or Heathrow. The idiocy of this anomaly
provides me with great merriment, as the half witted
clowns who run the
British government have totally failed to factor in its
consequences. 'Oh look - there's a big hole in the plane'
'Never fear, we hardly ever land on water - it'll be all right' |

That statement is a vile calumny against clowns. |
