State Pen
A place for the nonviolent convicted. | |
Hold a lottery among the fifty states. The state that loses gets all the prisoners. The state line becomes a prison wall/fence.
You could end up sentenced to New Jersey.
Maybe in each state a lottery between the counties.
You could end up sentenced to Morris
County, New Jersey
(also under Other Smart Prison in annotation )
movie - Escape From New York

A solution in search of a problem. |

Not really a solution even. |

//The state that loses gets all the prisoners// Baked
- Penn State, shirley? |

Cruel and unusual punishment ? |
|
|
Just having to listen to the bizarre attempts at verbal
communication (which clearly isn't
English) of Noo Joysie residents is in itself an acutely painful
experience

" Hold a lottery among the fifty states. " |
|
|
Scarcely practical. What if California lost ? National crime rates would soar. |
|
|
Conversely, a careful selection of state might drastically reduce crime. |
|
|
Penn State is not a state, it's a college, in State College. |

"Ok Snake, this time we're sending you New Jersey. Hello, Plissken are you there?.. I think he hung up." |

I find it strange that certain country near New Zealand has not yet been mentioned. |
|
|
^Tasmania ? I hear they make a fine ballpoint. |
|
|
No, Iceland. It's near New Zealand
as near, that is, as anyone
would ever want to get. |

Funny How no where is ever call Old Jersey or Old Zealand. |

"in old New York..." sings Frank. sigh |

The 'old' ones don't demean themselves with a prefix, naturally. |

The New Jersey is very definitely worse than the old one.
It's role, so far as I can tell, is to prevent conflict
between New York* and Philadelphia... if the spoils of
war are New Jersey, then you have a profoundly effective
deterrent. In England, the role of New Jersey is played
by Warrington. Rival cities Liverpool and Manchester are
held in permanent, grudging peace, like a boxing match
where the protagonists are separated by a 4 ft trench full
of dog waste. |
|
|
*whether that is better or worse than the original York, is
very much a matter of personal taste |
|
|
// Warrington ... a 4 ft trench full of dog waste. // |
|
|
That's an insult to dog waste. Dog waste is MUCH nicer than Warrington. |

Totally baked in the movie "Escape from New York"!! Well,
not the lottery part if I remember or I don't, still, NYC was
the big prison. |
