My quest for the use of dodecahedra continues unabated.
These needn't be real starfish.
I have a pair of fishnet tights which consist entirely of eight-pointed
Webby bits joined together which are surprisingly strong and are
effectively a string vest for the legs.
It occurs to me that if
we keep all our orifices shut we are effectively
surfaces of genus zero, in other words a topological sphere. Such a
sphere can be tiled using twelve pentagons, that is, a dodecahedron
can be projected onto it.
Twelve five-pointed starfish can touch armtips at the vertices of a
regular dodecahedron. Hence it would be possible, given starfish of
appropriate size and training, to cover the human body in starfish.
That
human body would then have to be immersed in seawater but you
could still get around if they were facing orally outward, using their
tube
feet.
Alternatively, you could simply have clothing designed as a net of
pentagrams into which you could climb, with the centres of said
pentagrams over the nipples and pudendum to preserve modesty.
Sufficient elasticity would enable you to enter the garment through
any
of thirty possible openings and proceed to thrust any of your
appendages through a selection of possible apertures.
A further possibility is to make the garment of less stretchy material
and simply have five possible holes. This would however alter the
topology.
Finally, for the less intrepid fashionista, there could just be a onesie
with a pentagon-based design on it.
Note that this is very nearly starfish porn.

Undergarments of weaved seaweed, and any topological use of dodecahedra would be fashionable. |
|
|
Although I would love this fashion (for my mermaid
fantasies) it think those thingies on the bottom of starfish
would be very prickly and itchy! Oh what we'll suffer for
fashion. |
|
|
Hence the term "fashion victim" ... |

Are you humans no longer bothering with that "breathing " thing, then ... ? |

|
This whole thing starts from a very odd point. |

I'm considering starting a cult - provisionally called
the Foodarians - based on the idea that we don't
actually need air to survive, but can derive
everything we need from food. |

^ One can't help but think that that's one simple math equation short of a smack upside the head. |
