On the flick of a lever, the oak and iron SPSPC is operable in either flat-trajectory or mortar configurations, and comes equipped with interchangeable cup sizes for calibers ranging from 3.0 to 12.0, as well as gimballed holders for truncated teardrop sniping rounds, and disposable bowls for human heads
and animal offal.
The Babbage-Norden computor integrates a pair of spotting teleperiscopes for range and elevation, as well as a simple meteorological set to determine air density and site windspeed. The set of polished brass knobs is rounded out by adjustors for ammunition type.
The catapult can be reloaded and ready to fire in seconds (less than a second in static or fixed installations). Completely silent and flash free. The activated-carbon filter allows for firing solutions from upwind, though it can be left off for psychological warfare elements.
Steam ? Silent ? Ready to fire in seconds ?
Maizechinegun What are you using for the heat source? [normzone, Oct 08 2014]

You built a steam powered catapult in shop class? |
Only getting getting a bun if it can make cappuchino as well. |
NB this is very Borg-ish, surprised it wasn't posted by the assimilated one.. |
It seems to me a catapult is about torque. Do you store the energy in a flywheel then dump it at once? I want details. |
Please, do try to keep up. |

I'm not so sure about this. Cephalopods are
intelligent, but training them to carry - let alone
use - a steam-powered catapult is a huge
extrapolation. |
That is a point, when not in combat use, it could steam calamari....still waiting for the cappuccino maker and trouser press add-ons. |
Cephalopods don't wear trousers, because the don't have any
legs, only many arms. So what's needed is a shirt press, shirley? |
