Sungalsses/other clothing for substance addicts which inject the substance into the user as the clothes are out on. Great for those who need an early morning shot. Could be sunglasses or socks equipped with needles for those whose veins are no longer or long sleeved shirts for the new user.

Naw. How would the needle find a vein? What would keep it from going crooked (ouch)? Why encourage self-destruction anyway?

Yeah Peter. Wearing sunglasses definitely means you're a drug addict.

Hey ed Dog. Ur right the idea is dumb but whats wrong with self-destruction...one of my favorite quotes promotes self destruction, havent u ever seen fight club.

cs_baller: Never have seen Fight Club, nor especially wanted to. Trouble with self-destruction is, you end up destroyed, eh?
Dog Ed, Aug 09 2001

Unless, of course, you fail to destroy yourself and then must live in self-loathing for being unable to accomplish anything, even your own self destruction. Yeah, self destruction seems a bad bet either way.

Amphetamines tend to elicit a rather different effects depending on whether the drug is injected, snorted, taken orally, or smoked. Injected it reportedly brings about a more intense "rush"...but conversely, the effect lasts only for a few hours. All the really "sketchy" tweaks I have ever known used needles.

Frank Zappa said speed would "turn you into your parents". (I'd beg to differ knowing my own folks.) It's certainly not very good for the body, although sometimes I wonder if breathing the air above a major metropolitan city during a "smog alert" is at or near this level of toxicity.

That said: it is is a drug with what many people consider to be medical value. improvement of alertness and a temporary aid for certain metabolic problems. But it cannot be obtained medically any more in any but the most extreme circumstances - and sometimes not even in those.

In the last 20-30 years, there's been a disturbing change in medical policy here in the States: even if you have a very legitimate need, you cannot GET prescribed medicine if the medicine has psychotropic effects that have abuse potential (abuse potential = the meds actually make you *feel good* and do so in a way that one notices.) Amphetamines were once available as an option for people who had such problems as slow metabolism, narcolepsy, and certain obesity problems unconnected to diet, which do not respond to a supervised exercise regimen.

Doctors are audited so much by the DEA now that even cancer patients do not get their painkillers, lest the doctor lose his license for "overprescribing". They will no longer provide stimulants for these purposes.

In case you don't know: injecting drugs in the neck and face region is VERY dangerous. Shooting up anywhere actually has no real advantage to it, IMHO...you can get infections, and the desired effect of the drug fades out faster. And needle track scars are ugly, not glamorous.

My insane girl friend from Los Angeles suggests: "If you must do [hard drugs] mix the stuff in water, and squirt into nostril. Helps keep linings of sinus from getting irritated." It would be much better to be able to get a legal prescription. Truck drivers used to get speed pills to help them avoid falling asleep at the wheel and smashing into cars. Now if they want that, they have to go muck about with murky characters who mix lord knows what in with it. Another example of how the Drug War and modern prohibition do more damage than good.
