Special Day for License to Exclaim!

one day a year we should appear enthused

Over time I have found that there is little or no support among bloggers/forum members for random exclamation and there's NO TOLERANCE for virtual yelling or multiple punctuation!!!???

I'm tired of reading the Christmas letters where the Jones Kids are all making top marks and getting awards for their athletic prowess!!! and all the glitter that goes with those.(so that's not what I want, either.)

Further, I'm not advocating triple exclam. points or q. marks, or even a lot of the YELLING, but just enough to show you care.

I am liberating those of us who are closet hyperactives and caffeine addicts with no fidget outlets, by exclaiming a Special Day for License to Exclaim! You should use the exclamation point in all your technical writing, directions to the mall, minutes of the BOREd meeting, letters to Gramma, Halfbakery ideas! - All in dire need of Exclamation Marks! THANKS!

don't know if Jutta moved this but I'm moving it back to punctuation, it is a punctuation- in- dull- writings idea.

guess I didn't explain it right!

And why this seething, boiling lot
can't abide exclamation marks in strings!!!!!

DENTWORTH!! LOOK WHAT YOU HAVE DONE!

[po] I'm sorry but you are going to have to say it with more feeling.

the idea is in the last 2 sentences!.
dentworth, Jun 18 2010

both [po] and [dentworth] are right
maybe this calls for one of those charts with the lines going from one thing to another and shows that this idea can be in another category!!!!!!!!!!!!!!too. 2 categories at once.

the idea should be in the title and description - not the last two sentences. think of the newbies...
po, Jun 18 2010

and how is this going to help those of us that don't even use capital letters or punctuation or paragraphs....

       MEH!!!!!!

seriously, I've been researching the tidbits of people's impressions of the HB 'cross the net, recently. You know that we are in the top 100,000 websites on the net? Also, 'reverse image search' is the search term that leads to us the most. Thought that was interesting. Anyways, if I were a newbie here at this idea, I'd have a hard time figuring it out. But, see, [Jutta], for me that's a good thing. I'm pretty sure my first experience here was no walk in the park.

//I am liberating those of us ... by exclaiming a Special Day...//

I approve of this idea!!!,,, because it confirms,,,, and supports,, the consensus that such punctuatial antic’s are utterly unnacceptable!!! and FORBIDDEN!!! for the other 365Œ dayZ of the year
pocmloc, Jun 19 2010

err... was the post changed or something ? it reads as generic, but everybody's treating it as HB.

       Category-wise I'd go with computer:online:something
FlyingToaster, Jun 19 2010

It was originally intended to be generic, but the poster made reference to the HB, so it was relocated to the halfbakery category by mods, whereupon it was edited and re-categorized by the poster to its current file location.

thank you, ahem I mean THANK YOU ![rcarty] for clarifying that, I did change it at Jutta's suggestion.
