Soccer Played With A Medicine Ball

Players kicking around a ten pound ball would certainly put a different spin on the game. Literally.

Probably look more like a rugby scrum where you get a bunch of guys in a crowd. Wouldn't be the fast paced players racing around thing, it would basically be a wrestling match.

You couldn't stop the players from running into each other, but maybe just say you can't grab the other players, just do like body slams.

Be really easy to try it out. Go to a soccer team's practice with a couple of medicine balls of various weights and see if they'd want to try it. I know I would've back in my sports playing days.

Congratulations, I think you just re-invented the very ancient Aztec game of ōllamalitzli.

I had to look that name up, it's not like I had it at the tip of my tongue or anything.

Whoa! That word did not copy/paste. Give me a sec.

Um... the game was called ollamalizli, but with like a hyphen above the O.

Apparently the losing teams coach was ceremoniously executed.
It was a whole thing.

So sort of like when we pour Gatoraid on the coach in our society.

Ahh the Aztecs, they were fun weren't they?
