Smart Shower
Determines ideal temperature based on environment conditions | |
Similar to the "Clever-Shower" idea, this shower's mini-computer has sensors which read conditions of the air in the bathroom, such as humidity, wind speed (if a window is open, for example), and temperature. Combined with the user's body temperature (determined with infrared cameras), the shower can
turn on to the perfect temperature which is not too hot or too cold.
cheaper than infrared cameras

& if I am lusting after someone totally unavailable, do I get a cold shower? |

Aren't you otherwise engaged? |

a laser temperature probe (link) would probably be cheaper and easier to implement. (+) |

Ah, [xclamp], that was more of what I was looking for. A camera is more than is needed, but the laser temperature probe is also expensive (due to its backlit display, ability to convert between systems, and of course that it is sold by ThinkGeek). I'm sure a simple digital camera (like a cheap USB webcam) could be tweaked to receive infrared light. The problem rests in that a person will have to stand (naked, presumably, which might be distrusted) in the camera's field of view. |

I think the nakedness is the whole point , not the problem. I like the laser probe thing, + |

How does it know how hot you like your showers? |

[htj], it also uses MRI scans to monitor your pleasure centers. Not sure about system cost. |
