Small pad of big paper

It's useful to carry a pocket notepad with you sometimes, but you end up writing notes on all those teeny pieces of paper.

I'd like a pocket notepad that has fewer sheets, but where each sheet folds out to make an 8 1/2 x 11-inch piece of paper. Letter-sized pages which are folded twice vertically (horizontally) and then once horizontally (vertically) will fit perfectly inside a pocket notebook.

A combination notebook containing some pages of each size would also be useful; for example, in places where there's no backboard to write on the big sheets with.

Annotation:

I once saw a pad that concertinaed (so the paper was long and thin, rather than letter sized).

but little pieces of paper look less ridiculus when you try to unfold them after jamming them in your pocket. i have issues with even simple maps, but i have big enough pockets to carry small pieces of paper.

also, 8 1/2 by 11 paper has always seemed to be an irritating size anyway. i like the index cards for notes and jottings. i admit that my desk is awash with slips of paper though.

       + Postitgami.

If the notepad unfolded to contain two large sheets attached at all edges, one could unfold it very quickly by inflating it like a balloon. This approach would be good for maps too.
