Ever lost your keys inside your home? Or a remote control?
1. Place a small sticker on every item you need to find
fast.
2. Once you can not find the item, from your PC you run a
program called "FindIt" that sends out (via an USB dongle)
a strong RF pulse. Chips on the stickers send a reply
with
their code. "FindIt" shows a list of tagged items that
answered along with the distance from the PC.
If you need extra accuracy and exact position of the lost
item, you use a second gadget - battery powered
FindItTriangulator that is placed in some other place within
the house. It sends another pulse and receives the
responses from the stickers with different time
delays/signal strengths so it is possible to calculate the
exact position of the items and show them on the screen.
Could also be internet-connected and paired with friends'
FindIt so that you can search for your items in your friends'
houses.

I think it was in Viz they propounded the scheme of trying everything you own onto a very long piece of string. |

|
Then again the next piece of advice was to "dip soil in vinegar first, as it last longer" |

I operate a simpler system - walking barefoot. Works
every time. |

I had something vaguely similar, the mock wet feet cleaner. All the rubbish in the entire room is shortly to be found sticking to the soles of my feet after I get out of the shower.. |
