This digital clock device has a single date and time that it goes off at.
Attach it to the present and it starts dinging "happy birthday" on the correct date and time.

..and what time would that be? wake your beloved at 12.05 a.m. you will be flavour of the month. |

Easier (and better) to get one of the many devices that will play (ding?) "Happy Birthday" when the present is opened. |

Take this idea and apply it to non-birthday situations... maybe useful as a New Year's novelty gift or something like that. |

deef: we've done that one, and it's Baked. |

Nah, this is much better. Because the birthday person doesn't always remember it's their birthday. Also, some nice and fantastic things can be done with an alarm clock set to a certain day (and time).
Including an "expired" signal for certain electronic services. |
