A game in which you must build a vast supercrime empire. You must start out small, perhaps hiring a few thugs or building only one buzzsaw robot. As you increase in strength and noteriety, you attract the attention of government security agencies, superheroes and other supercriminals. You must research your enemies, find their weaknesses, and destroy them, but some you can turn to your side. The best part is that you get to build your evil base (on the moon or in orbit, when you get really good) and defend it from do-gooders.

Kinda like Dungeon Keeper, I think, having never played that game.

The Sims http://www.thesims.com
Not based on evil, but I know you can direct your characters in this game to be generally bad people eventually turning to crime. [blahginger, Sep 13 2000]

Basically the same idea. [centauri, Sep 13 2000]

Gangsters http://www.gamespot...angsters/index.html
One of my favorite PC games of all time, actually. [ironfroggy, Nov 17 2007]

It's kinda like the base-building concept of Dungeon Keeper mixed with the 'Sim Gangster' style of Mob Rule?

Good idea, though. Those games did well.

When I saw the title, I expected a Sim game that begins with a perfectly built-up city/world/etc in equilibrium. The tools at hand would be similar to what you describe. Every action would cause ripples of evil and disintegration -- similar to the "traffic" when you build a road in SimCity.

You'd try to maximize profit/power without causing the system to implode.

Totally baked and shrink wrapped....Gansters and Gangsters2:Vendetta from Eidos are PC games that do all of this....and bloody hard it is too!

How about SimSoft, where you build a megasoftware corporation?

Mwahahahhahaha! Today, the modem! Tomorrow, the world!!!

Hmmm.... Simsoft? megasoftware corporation? Fits perfectly with Sim Evil, particularly if the products include an operating system and buying up other successful software companies while threatening hardware companies that wish to use an alternative. Why, I'm sure I can't think of a real-life corporation that does or has done that! *sarcasm*

I hear sarcasms the lowest from of wit. Either that or repeating the same tired out adage that everyones heard before has very little truth left in it is. Just can't remember.

Better than being witless. Anyhow I like the idea of Sim Evil, I see no reason for Simsoft that cannot be done by Sim Evil or Sim Business. I happen to like sarcasm and sardonic humour too alá "Yes (Prime) Minister", not that I think I'm any good at it :þ.

SimSoft is baked--look up "Tom Clancy's Ruthless.com"-- basically the same thing.

As gamer myself... there is a game like it, I can assure you (see link). HOWEVER, it could do with an upgrade...

       Vice City: GTA

Actually, this idea came out before GTA got really popular, so I'm bunning it.

Some helpers you hire may turn out to be undercover cops working for the Government - you'd better monitor their actions carefully to make sure, and terminate them if you suspect anything wrong!
