Sideline beatings

Beat up opposing players if they are on your turf

This idea was given to me by a very good friend of mine. I wanted to see how other people responded to it. Here it goes. During a football game (college or pro, doesn't matter), if after a play, a player ends up on the opponents sideline, they should be allowed to, quote, "beat the sh*t out of him" as long as he's over there. I like it, as long as the guy getting the beating is on the other team.

Yes, let the athletes beat each other up while lazy people like me watch on telly. Ideally, clubs and axes could be used to cause permanent damage. Power to the lazy!

how about if those players unfortunate enough to end up on the wrong sidelines were taken prisioner and held for a given amount of time, resulting in a football version of hockey's "powerplay"

Until a 'medic' from the other team can cross the field DURING a play, and tag his outstretched hand to bring him back over to your side
