Ouija board cursing at you? Tea leaves leave you high and dry? Astrology just too old-fashioned? Well, heres an easy and up-to-date new method of divination. Instead of messing with complex charts or tricky interpretation books, simply think of a question, set your music player (computer, iPod, etc.)
to shuffle, and hit play. The first song that plays provides your answer. You might extract meaning from your songs title, lyrics, or its overall feeling.
If you dont necessarily want a question answered, just set it to shuffle and take the first song as a sign. Or, let it cycle through a series of songs and let each song represent some portent, Tarot-style. The possibilities are endless.

My mind has a tendency to supply the correct background music for every scene. Manys the time I had a tune stuck in my head that I'd not heard for years, and when it finally came around to the lyrics it was obvious why I was playing it. |

Welcome to the halfbakery. |

Yes yes, indeed, welcome. I like this; easily implementable; mocking of fortune tellers; could be adopted in a manner similar to dice-life. [+] |

It would be interesting to try this with a heap of backmasking tracks. |

Very good. You could make a lot of money interpreting songs for people: "...the fact that this is an old reggae song suggests you need to look to your past and relax a little ... perhaps something is making you feel persecuted, in much the same way as the Israelites were? ...you may also be having difficulties clearly expressing yourself..." |

Somehow, I have always done this. Music is a pathway to one's soul.
Welcome to here. |

yeah, my brain does this automatically. still + |

I was thinking of something just like this recently - such as channel surfing divination, each TV channel should provide you with one or two words or events before you switch to the next. |
