Shock therapy

doorways give a shock to mice

I propose a device for the bottom of doorways that sends a non-lethal shock to anything that runs through it that isn't a certain pre-determined height. Hopefully, this will deter mice and other tiny rodents from entering or remaining in your home. I realize they don't usually come in through the door, but hopefully they'll associate your home or apartment with bad vibes. 1st time poster, so go easy on me.

Reminds me of an image recognition technology company that built a prototype cat door that could "recognize" the cat(s) that lived there, and whether they had any prey in their mouths. See link.

[waugs] - I stand by the door with a measuring stick and a cattleprod - ready to strike down any little critter that tries to get in. (I'm not sure if I'll shock 'em with the prod or bludgeon them with the stick - either way will be fun)

What's to stop the mice from standing on each-other's shoulders to look bigger?

The floor could be shaking and vibrating - making rodent acrobatics very difficult. Only an expertly trained troupe of possums will be good enough to get through. <senses some kind of mouse-trap-ease pun coming>

Build a better trap path and the mouse world will be beat and pathed out at your door.

A little voltage beam between the doorjams. I've seen the cat door thing, but this would just need sensors: one lower to detect movement, and one a little bit higher to detect whether it was a rodent or human or pet...although a cat getting zapped would be fine too...

You must be at least *this* tall in order to live.
Have the device zapping and popping until it *sees* something over a certain height.
