Shlippers
Comfy indoor slippers with an outdoor sole attachment | |
Warm and fuzzy slippers are essential attire in the Canadian autumn, and removing them to put on "outside shoes" is often inconvenient and time-consuming. Wearing your slippers outside, even for a quick trip to the mailbox at the end of the lane, can result in the unintentional tracking-in of unwanted
debris.
If one had slippers that were fuzzy on the bottom, and had a compatible treaddy sole whose upper layer was made of the "crow" type of velcro, one could simply step onto his outside slipper-soles, run around in the yard, and then remove the dirty soles upon re-entry.
Winter soles with extra traction should also be available.

Great idea, I would totally buy them for autumn. Not really in the winter though; when it's snowy, the sides and tops of my shoes and ankles also get wet and snowy, so I wouldn't want to wear snowy wet shlippers inside the house. But wonderful for autumn! |

Nice - and when you come inside
you have the choice of unvelcroing
the 'outdoor' sole, or just velcroing
a new 'indoor' sole to the
bottom.
[Mamamoose] I
think for wet weather you'd velcro
on a thick cork platform sole
which would keep your comfy
slippers well clear of puddles, etc. |

Love it. Add [hippo]'s attachment and many others. Velcro stilts. Velco animal-shaped soles. Velcro spring soles. (combine the second two for the kangaroo soles, the first two for giraffe soles) |

Velcro tends to attract more than just what you want it to; maybe the soles could be strap-on instead. And the slippers could be made less bulky, to accomodate the sole, perhaps even something that could fit inside a shoe. |
