Trundle around the croquet lawn with this overweight Segway and get a nicely flattened surface.

A lawn roller, strangely enough https://www.google....c=OlC9yIc-G3oa3M%3A

       Absolutely excellent.

Can I also suggest an exchangeable roller with aeration tines?

Why not 2? One for each purpose. Much better.

Incidentally, is this a British hundredweight, or one of those cheaper American hundredweights?

// Incidentally, is this a British hundredweight, or one of those cheaper American hundredweights?//

There is evidence that both long and short hundredweights were in use in England in the 1300s... finally the long hundredweight was officially cast out in 1985. 20 hundredweights of your choosing made the equivalent ton, tonne, whatever.

Shall we change our lawn roller to some number of stones?

       Steam powered, please.

Gone, but not forgotten. Ask any Englishman over the age of 40 what a hundredweight is, and they'll tell you it's 112 pounds. It's also, conveniently, very nearly 50kg.

Cool, it would work for making a putting green as well, me thinks.

The University purchased a new bell 5 years ago, and the supplier specified it as 3cwt 2qtr 16lb, so I'm not sure where the idea that it had been cast out came from. Perhaps it's like the way you can't buy liquids by the pint any more?
