How often have you seen an OAP standing on a stick in a checkout queue for 10 minutes or more. Why not provide them with a seat so that they can rest their legs and receive greater customer satisfaction.
OAP can bring their own seat.

I sat in a long queue once, on a bench. Every time someone was being served, we'd all slide forward one seat; at the end of the bench, someone would advance from one bench to the next. It was weird. |
