Contestants are given a load of unmarked tin cans bought from a boot sale. They have to make a meal out of the contents.

(?) Door Knock Dinners http://www.foodtv.c...dex/0,2241,,00.html
Professional chef knocks on a random door and cooks dinner with whatever is in the pantry. [td, Nov 22 2000, last modified Oct 04 2004]

       And consume their own meal?

For celebrity week, you could provide nothing but dog food and creamed corn.

"But Vanna, it's for charity!"

       Mmmmm.....

I can just see the combinations. Tinned cherries with baby corn and hummus, Campbells Chunky Clam Chowder with okra and Chef Boyardee Ravioli, lychees with mangoes and chilpotle peppers in adobo sauce, Alpo with condensed milk and black-eyed peas, Heinz baked beans with artichoke hearts and salted Chinese duck eggs.......

My stomach churns just thinking about some of the meals that might come out of this- but that's what would also make it a great show.

Sort of like the 'Survivor' episode when Richard ate an entire can of dog food....

Door Knock Dinners is kind of bogus, though. "Why, yes, I do happen to have truffle oil." I'd like to see the chef go knock on a college student's apartment door and see what they can do with a can of Keystone and a ketchup packet from McDonalds.
