Come explore the wonders of the Universe - from the very big to the very small - with your friends on Schrodinger Street.

You'll meet Quantum the frog; Oscar the cat (who may or may not be in his gravity well); Big Bang the bird; Albert the local traffic cop, Mme. Marie the newspaper photographer/reporter and many others!

You'll laugh and learn while Quantum leaps; Big Bang falls and goes boom; Albert tries to catch superluminal speeders; Marie gives us the inside scoop with her unique view of the world as well as many other exciting activities!

{Note to browsers: Fair amount of material here and I haven't done it justice... take it and run, if you want. I'll leave it to the more talented HalfBakers to re-write the theme song. For those who don't know, Sesame Street is a childrens' learning program on public television in the U.S. with a variety of hand- and full-body puppets along with human actors. It's the source of Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy and Big Bird.}

I've picked up my dad's copy of "Schrodinger's kittens". I think I got lost around the part mentioning something about a "Table of Contents".

That quantum stuff ain't light readin...

       It's not easy bein' seen
Having to spend each day as visible particle-waves,
When I think I could be easier being infra-red, or radio, or UV,
Or something much more energetic like that

       It's not easy bein seen
It seems you blend in with so many other ordinary things
And people tend to pass you over 'cause you're
Not standing out like gamma rays in the lab
or quasars in the sky

But 'seen's the color of most things
And 'seen can be cool and friendly-like
And 'seen can be big like a supernova
Or important like a bio-chemical reaction
Or tall like that radiation plume of dark matter at the center of the galaxy...

When 'seeen is all there is to be
It could make you wonder why
But why wonder, why wonder?
I am seen and it'll do fine
It's visible!
And I think it's what I want to be

       Cosmic rays
Sweeping the floating moisture collections away
On my way to where the quarks compete

Can you tell me how not to get
Or how to get to Schrodinger's Steet

       Come and stay
The universe's in decay
Friendly theorists there
That teach quantum discrete

Can you tell me how not to get
Or how to get to Schrodinger's Street

       It's a relative space-time slide
Every wormhole will open wide
To glowing people like you
Excited atoms like
What a theoretical

       Electromagnetic waves
Sweepin' the magenetosphere away
On my way to learn 'bout spectroscopy,

Can you tell me how to get
Or how not to get to Schrodinger's Street...

Doc, Madam Curie's first name is Marie, I thought...

Our special guest for today is Dr. J. Robert Oppenheimer...

//the source of Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy and Big Bird//

Not sure about that... what about the muppets?
yamahito, Sep 04 2002

Yamahito: I guess you're too young. Kermit certainly started out on Sesame Street, Big Bird stayed there, but I did think that Miss Piggy originated on the Muppet Show. But, in general the whole Jim Henson/Frank Oz thing started on Sesame Street.

// what about the muppets? //

What, Statler and Waldorf, or Waugs and UB ??

Who cares. Is the programme on now?
PeterSilly, Sep 04 2002

I always thought that Big Bird was strictly SS, kermit was the famous moonlighter, and Miss Piggy never stooped so low... But you're right, Doc, compared to some of my more venerable peers on the HB, I probably *am* too young.. ;op

giving a take, on being half-baked.....

think that would be, quantum uncertainty?
