Scented Light Bulb

A light bulb with a colored, fragranced coating.

The ultimate in mood lighting. As the light bulb heats up, the colored, scented coating releases its scent into the room. Possible extra version: a bulb with several coatings, each with their own color and fragrance, and each designed to release their aroma at different temperatures. The trick is that the bulb is one of those 3-ways with multiple wattages and filaments.

Another idea that I feel is related enough not to deserve its own segment: gasoline scented air fresheners, candles, and incense. Who doesn't like the smell of gasoline? Crazy people, that's who.

I imagine you could gauge a persons age and sex by how much they like the smell of gasoline.

I would also be concerned about the fire hazard of anything that actually coated the bulb. And, wouldn't any coating also diminish the light output of the bulb to the point of mood lighting so dark that you would not be able to see her/him?

Why not just spray gasoline in the air around the home?

Those are very common, we have some. You place them on top of the bulb, not around the neck, though (at least the one we have). Google on "light bulb ring".

I like the smell of gasoline and kerosene, but can't bear it for too long as it gives me a _nasty_ headache.
