Problem: Armored car personnel have to leave their armored car to go in and out of buildings to pick up and deliver money, checks, confidental documents, etc. The personnel are exposed to unecessary danger from criminals and even auto traffic.
Suggestion: Create a "port" in the walls of banks and
other heavily visited armored car stops. The armored car could back into the well sealed "port" and the valuables could be transferred to and from the armored car without direct exposure to bandits and traffic outside.

...until someone builds a fake one. |

Sounds sensible enough - in fact, I don't know why this hasn't been done already. |

Banks do have "ports" of a sort - night deposit safes. I imagine some similar mechanism could be used for docking to armored cars. |

In most states there are drive-up cleaners, pharmacies, liquor stores (:0) and virtually anything else you can name; why not drive-up cash pick-ups. |

This assumes that most armored car theft occurs at the point of pick up or deliver. That may be the case, but I doubt it. My guess is that, just as in the days of the stage coach, the attack is executed at some lonely point along the way. |
