Faux jungle setting, fake animals pop up, you shoot them with fake rifle that uses a light beam to hit the target. If you hit the animal, it's brought to your table prepared.

The animals would be fanciful Dr Seuss style beasts like the "tacodile", the "burritopotomus" and "pizzasaur".

Take one of my favorite restaurants to the next level. (see link)

Re. link. I am not, ever, under any circumstances, eating at an establishment that features a man-sized fibreglass frog.

<addendum, post-Googling> Not am I eating at a place whose menu items include "Rainforest Burger", "Tribal Salmon", and "Amazon Fajitas". What the coition is tribal about salmon??
MaxwellBuchanan, Aug 20 2016

Trust me, you guys would love this place. Food tastes better in a room full of jungle animal robots.

WTC is tribal salmon? Maybe it was a misprint.
doctorremulac3, Aug 20 2016

I also suspect that Amazon Fajitas may not be entirely identical to the authentic fajitas which are the staple food of so many indigenous Amazon natives. This is, however, only a suspicion.

On the other hand, if //[t]he animatronic animals come to life making noise and moving every 5 minutes or so.//, then that is an improvement on the service in many restaurants in Paris.

I can't seem to get any further than a rum-ball with a silver dung-beetle holder.

(I've been to one of their franchises... apart from the seriously impressive aquarium it was depressing)

The one in San Francisco is fun.

       I'm pretty easily amused though.
doctorremulac3, Aug 21 2016

Everything in SF is more fun. It's the people. I believe.
blissmiss, Aug 21 2016

When I was a kid Dad took us to an indoor rimfire rifle range, where one of the targets you could buy had a bunch of pizza images that you could shoot. It was something like 3 hits on any image and you would win that for free at the pizza joint next door, or some buy 1 get 1 free deal or whatever.

I remember being charmed by the novelty at the time. But then again I was about 10 years old...

       Well there is that...

Is the funth of SF perhaps due to the fact that has equal density of fun compared to other cities, but in the case of SF it has all been crumpled up into a smaller area, as viewed from above? Or is it that fun runoff from neighbouring areas accumulates in all those crinkles?
MaxwellBuchanan, Aug 22 2016

Is that Metric or Imperial funth?
not_morrison_rm, Aug 22 2016

Let's see, neighboring area funth factors. Marin across the bay, pretty high on the funth scale, Berkeley also across the bay if awesome of you're a foaming at the mouth Bolshevik. Oakland next to that is great if you like getting murdered. To the south is the Peninsula, a lot of boring cities until you get to glorious Palo Alto, all hail the might dollar! Fun if you like listening to assholes in two hundred thousand dollar cars angrily honking at anything they see.

I think San Francisco's appeal comes from its acceptance of various approaches to life. For one thing, it's the center of the gay universe, (I respect gays but I'm not going to use that dumb initialism that adds a different letter every couple of years to see of you're still obeying the rules.) and it was a famous center of the counter culture in the 60s. I believe this comes from it being a port city where for hundreds of years people came from all over the world to make money and get laid no matter who they were. So pretty much what's going on there today.

It is one of the prettiest cities in the world. Worth visiting for that alone. If you ever come out this way Max, let me know. I'll tell you what to check out and what to avoid. It is one of those cities like Paris or London where you have to see it at least once.

I shall bear that in mind, thanks, [Doc]. As it happens, my oldest daughter* is currently at Berkely for a few weeks, and initial reports are favourable.

       (*Also youngest and only.)
MaxwellBuchanan, Aug 22 2016

//my oldest daughter* is currently at Berkely for a few weeks//

Uh oh. Well, on the other hand, U.C. Berkeley has one of the top science programs in the country. Lawrence Livermore lab is just up the road and they design hydrogen bombs and laser weapons systems up there so it's not all left wing fun and frolic over there.

Tell her to stay out of Oakland (except for Jack London Square which is nice) and ESPECIALLY to stay out of Richmond.
doctorremulac3, Aug 22 2016

She'll be at UC Berkeley (unless she decides to build a nuclear bomb).
MaxwellBuchanan, Aug 22 2016

Sandia Labs is better. They can pull totally awesome boules of monocrystalline HMX ... different propagation velocities depending on which crystal axis is initiated.

       Basically, "bomb porn" ....

Quite so. How's that broken arm of yours, [8th] - have they found it yet?
MaxwellBuchanan, Aug 22 2016

Dunno. Gave up and replicated a replacement. At least it was insured third party, fire and theft ... managed to claim under the "fire" clause, eventually.

In the end, they agreed to pay out - OK, so it wasn't exactly "fire", but it was definitely a rapid and highly exothermic chemical reaction, liberating large amounts of hot gas.
8th of 7, Aug 22 2016

Yeah, I've had those too. Sturton's home-brew can do that. Never blew an arm off, mind.
