Round number alarm clock

00.10 00.20 00.30...
  (+11, -1)(+11, -1)
(+11, -1)

It is a well known fact that nobody ever gets up at 07.01 or 08.23, so what point in displaying these times on an alarm clock.
This clock would have a digital display that only changes at xx.10 or xx.15 or whatever interval the user decides.

[ ] this is reminiscent of clocks chiming the quarter, half and whole hour. Of course nowadays we use the modern method of "commercials".

yep, there was - I like that kinda quirkiness.

Not guilty... No annos deleted by me!

I'd buy this for the cleverness of it. + I'd show it off to my OCD friends, and make them shudder. Then I'd whip out my other alarm clock with nothing but "7's" on it for tatter. (And then I'd offer him hot cocoa and a cool wash cloth.)

My alarm's set for 5:55 everyday.

Why bother with numbers at all, just have a binary alarm clock. The light comes on for daytime, and goes off for night time.

That's already baked [pocmloc]. It's called the Sun!

we OCD types delete *edit:and edit* our annos often because they aren't perfect.

edit#3: I don't like this idea. - being a tad OCD I like to know what time it really is.

cue 100-page philosophical and technical argument

[Mike] - can you tell me where the controls are, I never manage to set it to my usual wake up time except a few weeks twice a year. Thanks.
pocmloc, Sep 27 2009

So, dentworth, do you know what time it *really* is?

How many milliseconds ahead of, or behind, Coordinated Universal Time is your atomic clock?

Or rather, how far off *was* your atomic clock, the last time UTC was calculated?

[pocmloc] all you need to do is move house far enough east or west until you reach the optimal setting.
MikeOliver, Sep 27 2009

Thanks [Mike], though my house is rather heavy and appears to be fixed down. But I'll try and give that a go and let you know how I get on.
