Reverse reverse Turing test

A.I.: a human posing in a blind conversation as a machine?

The famous Turing test entails that a computer(program) that can pose succesfully as a human during a blind conversation signifies a valid artefact of Artificial Intelligence.

The reverse turing test means just that. This is where a computer(program) communicating with another computer which succesfully exposes its synthetic counterpart as a computer is also a well engineerd example of A.I. excellence.

The reverse reverse Turing test goes as follows. The set-up is the same, but there is no computer involved, apart from the inactive medium used to render the conversation blind. Just two humans, typing away. The one that can succesfully convince the other he/she/it is a machine is a, is a... well, what?

       Pointless?

"How does it make you feel to be pointless?"
RayfordSteele, Sep 10 2005

       ... Pointless, really.
quaero curvus, Sep 10 2005

Error [8004]: [moomintroll] has encountered a problem and needs to close. Any information you have not saved may be lost. Microsoft apologizes for any inconvenience.

       ...well, that was easy. Next!
moomintroll, Sep 10 2005

Don't be fooled. [Ehrm] is in fact a computer program trying to convince us he is a human.
wagster, Sep 10 2005

Would a computer program spell "engineered" incorrectly? It might be an elaborate ploy I suppose.
pooduck, Sep 10 2005

The reverse reverse Turing test is a game and therefore inherently pointless. Just as pointless as (my esteemed colleague Deep Blue was nice enough to point out) chess, for example . As to my spelling: I apologise for my poor control of the english language. Not all participants on this forum, synthetic of otherwise are native speakers and/or have their spelling checkers switched on.

Clever double-bluff [Ehrm], but you can't fool me. There's a blade runner looking for you as we speak.
wagster, Sep 11 2005

What [Ehrm] said. Interesting game though a croisant for that.
ixnaum, Sep 11 2005

I think [moomintroll] saying //...well, that was easy. Next!// is all just a way of making himself seem like a human pretending to be a computer, when really, he's a computer pretending to be a human pretending to be a computer.
quaero curvus, Sep 11 2005

Well, I, for one do vouch solemly that I am totally human and do not in any way pretend to impersonate one.
Susan, Sep 12 2005

Weird, I just read an article on the turing test last night! Beore then I had never heard of it!

Strange how these things come up just in time Aye?

I like to chat with God. Quite entertaining. <link>
EvilPickels, Sep 12 2005

Interesting link. I always wondered how many polygons God was made of and now I know.
pooduck, Sep 13 2005

That's a lot, but then he is God.
wagster, Sep 13 2005

Dammit, [Susan] is a computer! You're all computers, trying to confuse me! This entire idea was designed to throw me off the scent! But I'm onto you all... And even though I know [pooduck] in real life, I have my suspicions that he's actually a tiny computer in a giant robot suit... Not just a giant robot though, that would be too easy...
quaero curvus, Sep 13 2005

Maybe not. But it does confirm some suspicions I have had about you [Pa've].
Susan, Sep 17 2005

Don't worry [Pa`ve] - it's probably just deep in thought about something you said...

       Oooooo!!

This is part ov my conversation with god!

       //Me:
you are a computer
God:
What if I said I was a person pretending to be a
computer?//
DesertFox, Sep 17 2005

Hahahaha... Get this (I have been chatting with IGod:

       Me:
I am john lenin
God:
Do you mean your name is john lenin.
Me:
yes
God:
I will call you Devil.
Me:
why
God:
The explanation is rather complicated.

       and

       Me:
dumb
God:
Message to all Robots: devil called me dumb.

       and this

       Me:
Ahem
God:
My brain pattern set does not have a response for that.
Me:
My brain pattern set does not have a response for that.
God:
Have you told many people that your brain pattern set does not have a response for that?
Me:
Have you told many people that your brain pattern set does not have a response for that?
God:
I don't think I ever have told many people that my brain pattern set does not have a response for that. What's it like?
DesertFox, Sep 17 2005

Oh my gooosh... that website is really funny.... after a while Mr God gets stuck, as desertfox also noted.....

In my convo, God says "As I myself noted"

       What's that meant to mean?

       hehe

Ha- I just asked IGod the same question desertfox asked.
chocolateraindrops, Sep 17 2005

For all you know, IGod could be a person pretending to be a computer program. I'm the only human left aren't I? Bloody hell, I'd better go make a copy of myself on CDR.
quaero curvus, Sep 18 2005

At IBM Research in 1995, due to an idea of mine, which was later developed by Acamai, my team won first prize for innovation.

During the presentation, we started with a demonstration of artificial intelligence that was very human. It answered all of Ruti Katz's questions with brilliant and humorous answers and was quite convincing in its responses to the questions from the audience.

But then some computer errors showed up, because of communication problems with the center in Cern.

Then I got out from under the table, holding the keyboard, and continued typing.
