Reverse-Escalator Entrances/Exits

Making our nations more fit by the day!

Make entrances and exits to enclosed public areas like schools, universities, shopping centers, and especially fast-food restaurants accessible only by going up a down-escalator.

A regular up-escalator attended by bus-boys is available to carry any stuff you may have that you can't get up an escalator, like heavy groceries (over 30 lbs), strollers, or wheelchairs.

People with medical conditions preventing them from using this can use the regular escalator with a doctor-issued access badge.

An escalator up to a McDonalds still isn't enough to burn whatever their eating. They probably have to spend an hour on the escalator, or just bypass it all and go through the drive-thru. It might be cheaper to hire thugs with bats to chase people in the streets, so that people get their excercise, but then... they would definitely not come out of their houses.

[twitch] I love the idea... Now I have a career to truly aspire to.

       Where do I apply?

Can I use a ninja sword instead of a bat?
Custardguts, Nov 30 2006

Sorry, no ninja swords, things might <ahem> escalate, and they might just start bringing shotguns when they leave the house. Wait, I think there's a word to describe this... ..ahh yes: Anarchy

       I'd really like reverse escalators.

Of course the real fun lies with putting Slinky(R) brand spring toys on the up escalators. I wonder what the record is for the longest slinky walk?
supercat, Dec 02 2006

I dunno... I tried an extensive and exhaustive Google search and couldn't find anything beyond "world's longest slinky". It's 74-ft long.

Nike did this in shopping centres once.
