Billiards and pool balls with cylindrical ferrous cores that align when an electrical connection is made in the battery powered rack. By pushing a button on the rack when the balls are in the right position for breaking, small electro-magnets lining the inner surface of the rack cause the balls to
spin in place until aligned, this would make tiny divots beneath each individual ball and keep them from moving as the, (now de-electrified) rack is raised allowing for a perfect rack every time.
Not to be confused with

Or this

Or these yummy...

ah, I see now. just ignore me...

wiki talks about a red ball and two white ones but I don't see that it matters.
http://en.wikipedia...#Beginning_the_game ah yes, and one white ball had a white dot so that you could distinguish between the two. [po, Mar 24 2006]
snooker! now you're talking real skill.

billiards! do you mean snooker? |
there are only 3 balls in play in billiards if memory serves me right. |
I'd like to see this in action. |

might make cheating easier |

I've never heard of a three ball pool game [po]. I think snooker is another word for billiards. But that might be wrong, if the game is on anything larger than a bar table I may as well be playing golf. |
snooker is played with <counts fingers>
15, 18, 21, ahem, 22 balls |
billiards as I know/knew it, was a just a black ball and two white ones. |
Impossible, but interesting. |
In the best rack, the balls are touching each other, literally, as much as possible. If they were touching each other, there is no way they could all spin. |
Divots in my pool table? Are you out of your frakkin' mind? - |
[UB] Nope. Imagine just 3 balls, all touching each other in a triangle. Spin one, and the other 2 will spin, but they'll spin in opposite directions, breaking contact, and pushing them apart. |
[sophocles] I get that the balls would have friction between them as they align, but this would be very slight compared to the attraction. They may break contact and push apart but they should draw together when they have finished turning. |
