binding two hydrogen atoms to an oxygen atom. The
hydrogen is then inert, compact, and can be used to make
tea. |

[mb] no its a different person, it does give me a partial thought on how to make hydrogen inert though. ok think of a n S orbital (hydrogen) then stretch it real long (========) is there a way to knot it. of course not, right, because it is actually an electron distribution. yet there are things that change the shape of orbitals (why do D orbitals have a almond shaped squinch, or pi orbitals that wild tubey shape) so possibly some modification of the strong or weak force could make a nonreactive orbital shape out of an S orbital. |

You could you just mix xenon (unaffordable) with hydrogen, then have the gas go through a hilsch vortex tube [link] to separate the hydrogen |
