A standard, (fire proof), twelve foot snooker table with an asbestos felt surface. No overhead lighting and solid yet porous balls that have been soaked in a mixture of kerosene and whichever substance turns the flame the color of the ball coated in it. [Link]
A spark generated from the initial
break ignites all of the balls leaving colored flame trailers behind each ball as they scatter around the table. As each ball comes to rest, the flame surrounding it dies down to a barely flickering aura, but when one ball strikes another and its movement fans the flame, colored fire tracers follow the path of each ball as they ricochet around the table.
The management will assume no liability in accidents caused by shots taken without using the granny stick. OW! Double or nothing?
Colored fire.

Bar-B-Cue and Hot Pockets, mmmm. |
I like the idea of flaming pool (billiards/snooker / cue-sports) balls. |
I would however point out that this is [later: *was*] in the fashion:hair category ! |
In days of yore, the method of manufacturing snooker and billiard balls rendered them extremely susceptible to combustible moments. Frequently the clack of two balls hitting each other would be followed by a boom as one of them exploded. |
Alas, the pyrotechnic capabilities have largely been removed from snooker balls since then. |
I read this as "Pyrotechnic Billboards". I like that better. |
Me too. Is myopia catching? |
[2fries], why fashion:hair? |

I don't know about youropia, but myopia is just fine. |
I forgot to choose a category when I posted this and I'm not sure why, but fashion: hair kind of picked itself. Oops.
Maybe it was a subconscious Freudian slip, seeing as how I will soon be as bald as a cue ball. |
This is such a cool idea. I want to see them explode when you pocket them, though. |
"It's all fun and games until someone gets cancer from the asbestos table." Other than that it would be cool. |
Oh yeah, I also thought it said pyrotechnic billboards. That would be pretty cool also, except for all the people getting in accidents because they can't concentrate on the road when there is a flaming advertisement for the nearest strip club above their heads. |
No way! This is way more cool than pyrotechnic billboards! |
Billiard balls used to be made of Celluloid, as [PeterSilly] notes. So does that make this baked? |
No - celluloid didn't combust into a variety of colours. It just exploded. this idea had different coloured flames that only ignite when they are moving (a bit dificult to get that bit to work). |
The balls would not only ignite while moving. They would be constantly burning; their movement would just make them burn more. |
