No, it doesnt lift your body. But with an RC helicpter engine, and a larger than usual propellor, this hat will lift right off your head, with you at the controls.
The ultimate fun, trying to land it onto peoples heads.
Wear your badges with pride.

You ever stood close (ie "hat close") to an RC helicpter [sic] engine? No, thought not. |

A little heat shielding, and it'll be okay. |

...and some replacement for a tail-boom.
Co-axial counter-rotating rotors?
Tangential side-ducts on the hat? |
I can see a lot of horrible accidents happening |

You'd auto-gyro if you fell down. That'd be a safety feature. |

Nice plan but I can't help feeling that safety might be an issue. [+] |

[DF] I suspect [AWOL] is more concerned by the noise than the heat? Maybe some authentic ear defenders might be in order. |
Ahhh, [d_s] true, they are noisy. I'd just shove some earplugs in my ear, if it were too loud. :) |
Oh, I think [DF] is after more than "effect". |

See my link to the Vectron remote controlled flying saucer. I have one of these and it is entirely feasable to fly one off your head! The handset can only control altitude on this model. The disc is rechargable and flies for a few minutes. The motor is low powered and safe, you can stop the propellor with your hand or nose. It would be nice to see one of these actually sold as a hat. |

//The handset can only control altitude on this model// How exciting. |
Don't helicopters have an attitude control too? That's a handy thing to have on a hat. |

//A hat with attitude?// - Hattitide, in fact. ...and worn at a jaunty angle. |
