Politician Web Approval

Simple government web site to allow us to vote our ongoing feelings.
  (+1, -4)
(+1, -4)
  [vote for,
against]

OK gang, it is 2008. I can buy a quad core pc from Best Buy for under $600. I dropped $2000 for my 486DX with no sound on it!

What on earth is wrong with us? We still can't get paper punch card voting right. Let's move into the 21st century in one small way.

A SIMPLE government website, one can "easily" navigate through to the politician of your choice. Your SS number will give you the code on who you are eligible to vote for. THIS IS NOT A VOTE, but a poll, of whether you like what they are doing or not. And a small comment box as an option. Gee somewhat like this site.

So each person can vote once a week for anyone they have in their jurisdiction of politicians. Then we can see how the politicians constituents like them on an on going basis. Pie chart, bar graph, I don't care, but up until this year I had no idea who on earth Huckabee was, this would give me a great means to view the people he was serving. Life is to busy for us to keep up with all the politicians out there. A continuous polling and lets not forget the very important archive section. We know how they can be nice and do things at election time only.

POWER TO THE PEOPLE!

OK, I'm new here, and I did not see 1 political category.

And you Dr Curry are an evil man. Gee that was quite sexist? Who are evil! I post my ideas in good fath and you seem posed to destroy them! You are a POLTROON!

But I mean it in the nicest way.

Real-time approval ratings for the admins, maybe?

as with any opinion poll. there is a real flaw to this: you are only registering the opinions of those inclined to register opinions - the noisy few.

A WEB LOUDOCRAY! POWER TO THE LOUD! AMERICAN IDOL 4 PRESIDENT! ROCK THE VOTE AS MANY TIMES YOU WANT! VOTE AS MANY TIMES AS YOU WANT! ($1.99 per min.)

(-) This would have very little to do with public approval. Pollsters take great pains to make sure the people they poll actually reflect the general, or general voting, population; you're completely ignoring that problem.

As with any 'opt-in' polling, you will only get those with very strong opinions voting, and not the general public (which is what you need), as noted previously.
As with any web-based anything, you will get hackers making a mess of your interface, your results, and anything else available.
(Hint: Try moving this to public:voting:mechanism to stop the category complaints.)
