Don't like apathy? Make it exciting!

I was reading sambwiches feeble railings against apathy (wasn't that the South African thing, also?) and marveled at his suggestion that bone dry, boring lectures might help alleviate apathy. The problem is that important problems are boring, boring BORING and dry, and ugly people squabble anemically about them while rich folks sweep them under the rug.

How, you may ask, do rich folks manage to flimflam the populace into ignoring matters of critical public interest? One excellent strategy was blowjobs and cigar-dildoes. The Monica Lewinsky "scandal" caught the attention of the USA, diverting it from matters of much more pressing importance such as conservative skullduggery.

The solution: present social problems in an overtly sexy context. This show should practically be pornography, with added insane "Fear-Factor" stunts and other eye candy. The show would actually be to introduce apathetic folks to important ideas and to promote liberal and social change. American Public Television could show it, allowing bared breasts and bums for the first time - in the interest of furthering the liberal agenda. Conservative fat cats could not compete in this arena, for fear of alienating Jesus and his followers. The world would be a better place!

Like what Janet Reno would look like wearing reensure's fave designs.
Shannon Doherty - she's the unsexy one who walks like a cowboy, right?

Or worse yet, Janet Reno wearing nothing at all.

That's the solution. More doses of completely boring lectures, more often. When we escape them, the world will seem a much more exciting place. Who knows, perhaps this is why the British enjoy cricket so much...

I thought you were going to nominate David Hasselhoff for Pres. Our relations with Germany would improve.

In my experience, boredom is a tactic deliberately used by the politicos to exclude normal people from politics.
