The "wear out the baby" so we can get some sleep setting. |
|
|
Why doesn't this exist already |
|
|
Radford Steel you are a pure genius! |

My grandfather (on my dad's side) made a treadmill for me. Cheers granddad. |

Nearly ended up blummin' Russian cos of him and his dad. They went over to see the Worker's Paradise in the 1920's, luckily they came back. |

//Stairclimber still in development// |

Probably because they discovered that the "Worker's Paradise" was
nowhere to be found. |

Empty, clean oil drum. Pop child in; can't climb out. |

Excellent idea. Wear the babes out. Yay. |

I have trouble coping with the fact that my daughter is fifteen now. |

I remember those infant days like they were just yesterday. Of course every other day seems like yesterday... but that is completely beside the point, and I'll just shut up now. (+) |

I always figured an oversized stainless steel wok design
would make a good playpen. Have a drain at the low point,
keep the kid naked for the occasional hosing down and
you're good to go. |

^ Highly marketable product. Fabricate in 18/8 SS. |

I could have used one of these a long time ago. + |

For yourself, your progeny, or your grandparents? |

How long before someone tries to make it an energy source? |
|
|
2 Axis treadmills are surprisingly difficult to design. You're
probably better off with a hamster ball/track ball sort of
design. |

Sort of been done, somewhere in Africa, they dug out a new well, and the pump mechanism was a merry-go-round..presumably the gearing was low... |

Babies crawl to learn about the world, not about a treadmill. This will lead to adults which spin along on their home-trainers, socialize with the TV set and are lost when the escalator stops running. This is for people who put a leash on their toddlers. [-] |

[+] I thought this would be a chipmunk running wheel. |

Jeez, she can't even walk, and you want her to balance on top of a hamster ball... |

Leashes should never be placed on children. Whenever I would go out to the chicken coop to refill my daughter's formula bowl, I would find her with a chicken feather in her mouth and her leash tangled up around a fencepost. Clearly this wasn't a good idea. My effort to protect the chickens with electric fencing didn't fare any better-- but lately the scars are fading, and if I dress her up in the right patterns of plaid it goes quite well. |

It occurs to me that we've already solved this problem with the Halfbaker'ys exclusive Roaming Goldfish Bowl Technology. Finding a baby-sized wetsuit and oxygen mask that sufficiently adapts the mechanics of crawling to propelling a tailfin could take some time though. |
