Not really. If you don't know what a pixy stick is already, its a paper tube that you rip open to eat. Its filled with very sugary grains of candy. Very sweet, and it's flavored according to color. It can be hard to get kids to brush thier teeth. I propose making a toothpaste that comes in tiny
tubes shaped just like pixy sticks filled with toothpaste. The toothpaste would be flavored according to color just like the pixy sticks. Chock it full of artifical sweetners, and coloring and the kids love it. Disclaimer: you might want to brush with real toothpaste afterwards.

Brilliant! Tooth powder for the 21st century five year old! |

Make a sugar-filled toothpaste. I'd bun that. |

Good idea [+], but I can see a problem with kids not wanting to spit out the toothpaste after they brush with it, therefore ingesting it. As long as it's non toxic, I doubt that would be much of a problem. |

What's wrong with just being the grown up and making sure your kids brush their teeth? Also, acurafan reminds me of a pet peeve: medicines that taste like candy. I think toothpaste by it's very nature is toxic. Never in favor of pushing more artificial crap at kids either. |

But, you know, yay for using pixy sticks! I'll take one full of aspirin, and another with a good antihistamine. [+] |

I imagine toothpaste with sugar in it would probably still work well, although the ADA (and your country's equivalent) would never go for it. [+] |

Yeah, actually, [spacecoyote], sugar rots the teeth. I've been really touchy about this kind of thing ever since I was younger. I stayed at the house of a friend of mine who, after brushing his teeth to get ready for bed, proceeded to munch into a sandwich and Coke. "Dude," I said, "You just brushed your teeth." "So," he said, "My dad says it doesn't matter as long as you brush them." "But your teeth will rot." "Let's go ask my dad." Dad confirmed that he could drink all the soda he wanted as long as he had brushed his teeth. I kind of twitched and kept mum. |
